Position Summary:

The Department of Neurology at the University of Wisconsin, is seeking applicants for a full-time assistant professor, associate professor or professor Critical Care Neurologist to join our faculty! This position would be active in a Neuro ICU team including physicians from Neurology, Neurosurgery, and Emergency Medicine. The Department of Neurology is a department of almost 60 faculty and 17 advanced practice providers located at 2 main sites: University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics and 20 S. Park. Weekly grand rounds take place at the UW location. This is a diverse group of generalists and specialists that provides primary, secondary, and tertiary inpatient and outpatient care for a Wisconsin and northern Illinois. Principal Duties:

The successful candidate would be a member of the Neuro ICU team at University of Wisconsin Hospital. Clinical responsibilities include serving as the 24/7 onsite attending physician in the Neuro ICU during the assigned weeks. Attending duties are shared among the Neuro ICU physicians and will depend upon the number of faculty but is expected to be 1:5. Academic responsibilities include teaching and mentoring medical students, residents and fellows as well as teaching continuing education programs for physicians and the public. The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service appropriate to the rank and in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of the School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. An essential part of these duties will be working in a collegial relationship with other faculty members.

For appointment at the CT Track: duties will be approximately 90% clinical, 10% teaching, depending on the successful candidate. For appointment at the CHS Track: duties will either be approximately 80% clinical, 10% research, and 10% teaching or approximately 80% clinical, 20% research, depending on the successful candidate.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD, DO or MD/PhD required

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Clinical and research interest in neuro-critical care required.
ABPN certified or eligible
Candidates for associate rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines.

License or Certificate:

Must be Board eligible or board certified in Neurology.
Must be eligible for Wisconsin medical license and be licensed in Wisconsin by time of appointment.
