Franklin College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the Assistant Professor level in Business, to begin in August 2019. We provide a strong, active, and tailored liberal arts education through small class sizes and intentional relationships between students and their faculty mentors.  Located about 20 miles from downtown Indianapolis, we support purposeful and practical academic experiences in and out of the classroom that leverage this location as students pursue personal, intellectual and professional growth.  Please see www.FranklinCollege.edu for more details.

 

This new hire will join the department and the college at a time of exciting change.  The historically strong business program is committed to delivering fundamentals needed in the market today through increasingly immersive and hands-on methods of teaching and learning.  The college is embarking on a similar initiative campus-wide.

 

The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic educator who is committed to active and engaged teaching in the areas of business management and marketing. Courses may include operations management, contemporary marketing, entrepreneurship, risk and insurance, and international business. Teaching in the college’s liberal arts program is encouraged. Typical teaching load includes 24 semester hours a year and an every-third-year Winter Term class. Broad service to the college, such as advising and committee work, is also required.

 

Candidates who can demonstrate a dedication to teaching and a genuine interest in working with undergraduates in a small-college liberal arts setting will be given preference. Candidates must provide evidence of their ability to effectively deliver college level instruction. MBA is required. Preference will be given to candidates with PhD or DBA. ABD considered for hire; doctorate required for tenure.
