JOB DESCRIPTION

The School of Nursing at the University of Indianapolis is seeking applicants for a non-tenure-track Professor of Practice in the graduate clinical programs. This is a full-time, ten month faculty position with a start date of August 2020.

Teaching requirements will consist of clinical courses in the graduate programs. The normal teaching load is 27 semester hours per academic year. Primary teaching responsibilities will be in the graduate clinical tracks. Applicants must hold a current, unencumbered license as an RN in the State of Indiana and must also hold a current, unencumbered license as an APRN (certified as FNP or AGNP) in the State of Indiana. Applicants must also hold a current position as an APRN in the State of Indiana. Successful candidates should also have demonstrated abilities toward scholarly activity in their fields to remain current. Service to the school, University and community are also requirements for the position.

The ideal candidate would have DNP or PhD in nursing or related healthcare field. Minimum of three years clinical practice is required. Qualified candidates with Master’s degrees will be considered, provided they have significant professional clinical experience and are willing to obtain a terminal degree within 5 years of the date of hire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach 27 credit hours per academic year, primarily in graduate clinical tracks
  • Provide service to the school, University and community


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Current, unencumbered license as an RN in the State of Indiana required
  • Current, unencumbered license as an APRN (certified as FNP or AGNP) in the State of Indiana required
  • Hold a current position as an APRN in the State of Indiana
  • DNP or PhD in Nursing or related healthcare field, or Master’s degree in Nursing or related health care field with significant professional clinical experience willingness to obtain a terminal degree within 5 years of the date of hire required
