The Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time non-tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Engineer in the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment in the area of Transportation Technology.

The incumbent will work at the Technology Transfer (T2) Center, which is a part of the University of Florida Transportation Institute (UFTI) in the Engineering School of Sustainable Infrastructure and Environment (ESSIE). They will work collaboratively with University of Florida Transportation Institute (UFTI) faculty, staff and students to develop and submit proposals and implement grants in the field of traffic operations, highway safety, and emerging technologies. They will conduct independent research, analysis and design as needed and assist with the T2 Center’s technology transfer efforts with research dissemination using traditional as well as novel approaches. This position will assist the T2 Center Director with strategic planning, identifying and prioritizing research needs, and liaising with potential partners and stakeholders. Candidates will need to demonstrate their ability in proposal writing, research publications, and a strong background in teaching courses and presenting their research in seminars and conferences to transportation professionals. Expertise in the areas of application of analytical methods for transportation safety in rural areas and experience in working with small and rural agencies on safety planning is desired.
