The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Florida College of Medicine - Jacksonville is seeking a well-qualified applicant to fill a full-time position as a Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist within the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. The position will be at a non-tenure accruing level of Associate Professor/Full Professor and will assume an existing patient base, working alongside six (6) general cardiologists, two (2) interventional cardiologists and one (1) electrophysiologist. The successful candidate will have completed a 4th year of subspecialty training in interventional cardiology, have demonstrated excellence in performing conventional and state-of-the-art interventional procedures, and have a strong interest in academic productivity. The successful candidate will participate in all aspects of diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization including evaluations of postoperative patients for whom hemodynamic assessment is necessary for guidance of medical and surgical management. The successful candidate will replace the senior interventional cardiologist in order to remain compliant with state required number of procedures per operator. He/she will participate in outpatient clinics on the main campus and satellite locations and coverage will include night and weekend call and inpatient rotations. The candidate should possess exemplary clinical, organizational and interpersonal skills; engage enthusiastically with other members of the cardiology team; enjoy teaching of residents and fellows; and have demonstrated academic scholarship.

In-patient care for congenital heart patients at Wolfson Children’s Hospital is provided in a 12 bed dedicated Cardiac Intensive Care Unit. Two (2) state of the art cardiac catheterization laboratories host over 220 cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology studies per year. Two (2) congenital heart surgeons perform approximately 180 cardiovascular operations each year. The catchment area for Wolfson Children’s Hospital is home to over 1.5 million people and we provide care to children from southeast Georgia to Daytona as well as from a growing number of international children such as Central America and the Caribbean.

The University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville is the largest of the three UF colleges - medicine, nursing and pharmacy - located on the approximately 110-acre UF Health Jacksonville campus. The college's 17 clinical science departments house more than 400 faculty members and 360 residents and fellows. The college offers 34 accredited graduate medical education programs. In addition to graduate medical education, clinical rotations in all the major disciplines are provided for students from the UF College of Medicine in Gainesville.

Applicants must possess a MD/DO degree, Florida Medical License eligibility and be BE/BC in Pediatric Cardiology.
