This position has primary responsibility for assisting the Director with implementation of educational support services for the Lakeshore Campus and the day-to-day operations of the Student Services Center. Interacts with Business Services, the Library, Learning Assistance Center, Student Development, and Division Offices to ensure that appropriate courses, programs, and student support services are provided at the Lakeshore Campus. Assists the Director in identifying, scheduling, and delivering academic courses and programs.

Required Qualification

1. A high school diploma or equivalent.
2. Strong organizational skills
3. The ability to be accurate and detail oriented.
4. Strong (intermediate) Excel and Word skills.
5. At least two years of progressive responsibility office work experience.
6. Strong customer service experience.
7. Sound quantitative skills.
8. Proven ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Desired Qualifications

1. Experience with scheduling software, R25 in particular.
2. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
3. Experience using the PeopleSoft system.

Pay Rate $12.74/HR. Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Location Lakeshore Total Hours per week 40.00 Work Schedule

Summary of Essential Functions

1. Assists in the daily operations of the Student Services Center by maintaining the day-to-day Student Services Center’s operations, assisting in the implementation of activities consistent with the goals and objectives of the Student Services Center, assisting the Director in planning, developing, and promoting ways and means for improving services to students, generating all reports including reports of student and staff complaints made to the Director and data and statistical reports, assisting in establishing procedures to assure confidentiality of student records and recommending new procedures, programs, and activities to the Dean.
2. Assists Academic Program Scheduling by assisting the Director with the identification of program needs for the Lakeshore Campus and northeast Lake County, monitoring the use of rooms and processing special requests, assisting in the development of a marketing strategy for special programs at Lakeshore that fit into the campus mission, understanding college support services, including those provided to special needs students, and developing class usage grids, correcting “To Be Announced” and other room assignments.
3. Collects and reports tuition payments, fees, and fines to Business Services to include monitoring procedures for collecting and reporting, maintaining procedures for the safeguard of money collection and deposits, and maintaining appropriate audit reports of all fee and tuition payments.
4. Implements Testing Center processes by maintaining procedures for screening students who are cleared to take the Basic Skills and/or Placement tests in math, chemistry, CIS, GED, ABE, BNA, etc., coordinating and maintaining the registration of students taking the GED final tests and/or re-tests.
5. Collects and supports data by compiling data as needed for reporting purposes, scheduling special project reservations throughout the year by phone, fax, and e-mail, and processing and posting same.
6. Performs other related duties as assigned.
