The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, Postdoctoral Associate position in our Forensic Toxicology Laboratory. This A.F. Wentworth Fellowship funded Postdoctoral Associate must be a highly motivated individual with a strong background in performing Analytical Chemistry. The duties will include the development and validation of analytical methods for the analysis of drugs and other substances in postmortem fluids and tissues using LC-MS/MS and LC-MS-TOF. In addition, the incumbent is expected to develop additional independent projects that build upon the ongoing research in the laboratory, contributing their own expertise and important scientific questions in order to provide a productive experience and a foundation for career development in toxicology.

Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Applicants must hold a Ph.D. Those with a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry or Toxicology are preferred.

The position requires competence and expertise with drug analysis and with other substances in postmortem fluids and tissues.

Knowledgeable in the isolation of drugs and drug metabolites from biological fluids and tissues, and the operation of GC-MS and LC-MS/MS.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
