Position Summary

The Department of Physics and The Institute on Research and Education in eNergy, Environment and Water ( RENEW ) at the University at Buffalo (UB) are seeking to fill a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in experimental condensed matter physics/material science in the area of Molecular Beam Epitaxy ( MBE ) with appointment in the Physics Department. The successful candidate is expected to build an active research program around the synthesis of novel materials using advanced materials growth and deposition techniques including MBE .

The incumbent will also be a key member of the RENEW Institute which has five research and educational focus areas that crosscut Energy, Environment, & Water: (1) Next-Generation Materials and Technologies for Energy, Environment & Water Sustainability; (2) Sustainable Urban Environments; (3) Freshwater Coastal Ecosystems and Blue Economy; (4) Environmental Exposures, Genomes and Health; and (5) Climate Change & Socio-Economic Impacts. Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in the Physical Sciences or related fields; post-doctoral experience and a strong record of publications. Applicants should show promise of initiating and sustaining creative research and of obtaining external funding; have communication skills; the candidate should be dedicated to undergraduate and graduate education.

Preferred Qualifications

More than one year of post-doctoral experience.
