Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a Clinical Psychologist to join our growing Special Needs Center located in Southern New Jersey. A secondary appointment to the Rowan University Psychology Department and supervision of Psychology PhD student is possible. This is a grant funded position. The candidate will participate in the assessment/treatment of the clinical needs of the clients, assist in the development of appropriate treatment plans/programs, provide clinical supervision as needed and provide psychological assessments or full evaluations of clients referred by the Division of Child Protection and Permanency. Additionally, you will recommend appropriate treatment, programs and services, advocate for the needs of the client or families. Essential to your success will be your ability to provide expert testimony and/or fact witness testimony to family courts, as well as, provide educational information to case managers, supervisors and division attorneys, in relation to psychology and families of children who have been neglected and/or abused. The position may require participation in pre and post-doctoral training activities, education and staff development; involvement in department, school and university committees; and collaboration with ongoing research activities.

Ideal candidates will possess a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in clinical psychology and be licensed in NJ.

Qualifications - Candidates must be fully qualified to conduct psychological evaluations of adults or children, including psychological testing. Expert testimony may be required for family courts. Case consultation and education for collaborating professionals, as well as client advocacy are also involved. Experience with abuse, neglect and trauma seen in child welfare settings is helpful.

•Must possess a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited doctoral program.

•Must be licensed in the State of New Jersey at the time of hire.

•Must be a highly organized and creative problem-solver, is an effective communicator and demonstrates excellence in interpersonal and writing skills. An interest in counseling individuals with trauma history and special needs is preferred.

Our clinical campus is located in Southern New Jersey, which is within the Philadelphia metropolitan area approximately eight miles from Philadelphia, one hour from the Atlantic Ocean and two hours from New York City.
