General Description of Position
Under the general supervision of the Dean and the Program Chair, the adjunct instructor will provide instruction to students in various courses which could include classroom (face-to-face or on-line), laboratory and/or clinical setting. The adjunct instructor may serve as a coordinator for a group of courses or be the lead instructor for a course or courses with the program. The instructor develops and implements the course syllabus according to the program curriculum plan and SCC policies in cooperation with other faculty.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate degree in Surgical Technology from a CAAHEP accredited program, demonstrating yearly progress towards a Baccalaureate degree in Health Science, Allied Health or Education. .Current Certified Surgical Technologist.
2. Two years of surgical scrubbing experience in the last five years.
3.Current member of the Association of Surgical Technologist.
4. Maintain health requirements for clinical sites.
5. Certified in CPR .
Desired Qualifications
1. Associate degree in Surgical Technology from a CAAHEP accredited program with a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Allied Health or Education.
2. Currently certified as a Surgical First Assistant ( CSFA ).
3. Teaching experience in post-secondary education.
