General Description of Position
Under the general supervision and direction of the Division Dean/Associate Dean and the Program Chair of the Land Surveying/Civil Engineering/ GIS Technology program, the instructor is responsible for providing regular instruction, developing and updating of the courses taught in a classroom/laboratory, Internet, and or distance-learning environment. Teaching assignments for this position could include, but not limited to Plane Surveying, Civil CAD Drafting, Engineering Surveying, Highway Plan Reading, Route and Construction Surveying, Geodetic Surveying, Principles of Land Development, Applied GIS, Boundary Control & Legal Principles, Public Land Surveying, and the applications of AutoCAD, AutoCAD CIVIL 3D software, applied mathematics, and ESRI GIS Software to meet the needs and requirement of specific courses being developed or taught.
Minimum Qualifications
1. An Associate Degree in Land Surveying/Civil Engineering Technology, Land Surveying & CAD Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.
2. Two (2) years’ experience in the field of land surveying and civil computer aided drafting.
Desired Qualifications
1. Documentation of an advance degree or additional college training related to Land Surveying/Civil Engineering teaching and instruction.
2. Teaching experience in the classroom/laboratory, Internet, and or distance-learning environment.
3. Licensed in Land Surveying for the State of Nebraska.
