General Description of Position
Under the general supervision and direction of the Division Dean/Associate Dean and the Program director of the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology Program, the instructor is responsible for providing regular instruction, developing and updating of the courses taught in a classroom/laboratory, internet, and or distance-learning environment. Teaching assignments for this position could include, but not limited to piping practices, sheet metal fabrication, electrical principles and practices as well as HVAC /R systems.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Associate degree in HVAC /R Technology
2. Two (2) years recent industry work experience in residential and commercial air conditioning, heating and refrigeration.
Desired Qualifications
1. Documentation of an advanced degree or additional college training related to HVAC /R teaching and instruction.
2. Four (4) years of recent on-the-job/hands-on construction site experience.
3. Experience in teaching and/or supervision of residential and or light construction job-site projects.
4. Teaching experience in online. hybrid format, flipped classroom and progressive experience in utilizing technology in curriculum development and delivery.
