Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Title: Adjunct Faculty-Asia Business Programs

Reports to: Asia Programs Coordinator

Standard Hours: 2 weekend format/4 credit hours

Summary:
Benedictine University is located in the west suburb of City Chicago. International Programs and Services is currently seeking adjunct instructors to teach MBA and Master of Science in Management Information Science(MSMIS) programs and undergraduate- level business program and programs at our partner universities location throughout China and Vietnam. Undergraduate courses are taught over a three week time-frame with daily classes, and graduate courses are taught in 2 weekend format. Quality teaching and strong business working experience are the top priorities.

Key Job Responsibilities:
1 Must teach all assigned classes and hours as determined by the course schedule
2 Plan course instruction based upon approved curriculum, syllabus and learning outcomes
3 Design, administer, and grade course assignments, essays and exams to assess achievement of course objectives as identified by the syllabus
4 Contribute to program development through collaborative participation in curriculum design and review, promotion of collaborative partnerships and engaging with faculty, adjuncts and/or students in joint projects
5 Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing BenU, its office, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner
6 Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the positions as required
7 Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting BenU mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policy
8 Follow procedures and policies defined in the Adjustment Faculty Manual
9 Perform other functions as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:



1 Graduate-level programs: Ph.D., D.B.A., J.D. or other terminal doctoral degrees (excluding graduate teaching experience) in areas such as finance, accounting, management, economics, information technology, engineering and related fields

2 Undergraduate-level programs: MBA with 3+ years’ relevant industry working experience(excluding teaching experience)in Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Entrepreneurship and related fields.

3 Experience in Learning Management Systems: Desire 2 Learn (D2L) is desired as well as an Enterprise Software System (like PeopleSoft)

4 Demonstrate intercultural competence and commitment to working with international students, adult learners and underserved student populations

5 Experience in an international setting preferred

6 Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

7 Behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times

8 Must be a US citizen or be authorized to work in US

9 Ability to fly on transpacific flights between US and Asia

Additional Information:
Courses are offered on campus in our partner universities either in China or Vietnam. Positions are available contingent upon enrollment, funding and departmental needs. This is a non-tenure-track, part-time, faculty position.
