Provide mechanical maintenance/millwright instruction on installation, repairs and maintenance of equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, and operation manuals and specifications to provide skills to train the next generation of petrochemical, maritime and construction trade workers.

Minimum Education/Training/Experience

-High School Diploma or GED . Equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. 5 years’ experience in the industrial or manufacturing field as a millwright or mechanical maintenance technician.

Preferred Education/Training/Experience

-Minimum of a Mechanical Maintenance Technician or Millwright license, certificate or degree.

Minimum Knowledge & Skills

-Knowledge of maintenance and repair associated with bearings, shafts, chains, valves, pumps, compressors and mechanical drives.
-Knowledge of maintenance and repair associated with centrifugal compressors, blowers, turbines.
-Knowledge and understanding of alignment and vibration systems.
-Knowledge and understanding of rules, calipers, micrometers and other measuring instruments.
-Knowledge and understanding of adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
-Knowledge and understanding of operating milling machine, drill presses, grinders, etc., in installation and repair machinery and equipment.
-Knowledge and understanding of use and interpretation of schematics and blueprints related to equipment.
-Knowledge and understanding of use of industry standard cutting and welding skills, use of torch, stick welding, and wire welding.
-Knowledge and understanding of lock out tag out, hot works, line breaking and confine space entry.
-Knowledge and understanding of moving machinery and equipment, using hoists, dollies, and rollers.
-Knowledge and understanding of safety and housekeeping for a safe training environment.

-Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials through lecture and lab instruction.
-Maintain accurate student accounting records in compliance with COM .
