Assistant Professor of Theatre Performance: Acting/Voice
The University of Evansville seeks
qualified applicants for a tenure–track, Assistant Professor of
Theatre Performance: Acting and Voice position in a nationally
recognized undergraduate Department of Theatre, beginning August 1,
2018. Responsibilities include teaching, advising, scholarship, and
service to the University, community, and profession.
Applicants should have significant professional experience
as an actor and/or director, a background in current voice and
speech methodologies, and a passion for teaching and mentoring
undergraduate students within a liberal arts setting. A secondary
area of expertise, such as directing, movement, stage combat, or
other related training approaches highly desired.
The successful candidate will teach courses in Theatre
Performance, including Acting Fundamentals, Character Study, Acting
in Dialect, Classical Texts, Audition Techniques, and will serve as
text/dialect coach for departmental productions. Directing or other
production assignments possible, dependent upon
Qualifications: MFA degree and significant professional
experience required. Previous teaching experience and AEA or SDC
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a
collaborative nature are essential. Review of applications will
