Research Assistant Professor - Pharmacy - (FAC001274)



The Department of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Houston is accepting applications for a Research Assistant Professor position, available immediately. The department is nationally and internationally recognized for research in drug discovery and development, experimental therapeutics, and pharmaceutical sciences. The research team within the department includes experts in medicinal chemistry, analytical chemistry, drug discovery and development, cancer biology, preclinical and clinical pharmacology, toxicology, and pharmaceutical sciences.

Qualifications :

PhD in chemistry, medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, chemical biology, molecular biology, cancer biology or related field with 3+ years of postdoctoral or industrial research experience; Significant experience with protein-ligand interactions, conformational and structural analysis, virtual screening, compounds design, synthesis, purification, and characterization by chemical and biophysical methods; excellent publication record, strong organizational and excellent communication skills for assisting and collaborating with molecular biologist, pharmacologist, and pharmaceutical scientist in a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team.
