We are searching for an outstanding educator and scholar to fill a tenure-track faculty position (Assistant Professor) in Educational Administration. The position will begin fall semester 2021.
• Develop and teach online and/or hybrid courses in our graduate programs focused primarily on preparing graduates to be effective state, district, or school-level organizational leaders.
• Teach master’s and/or doctoral courses in the program areas of the department—potentially including the areas of organizational leadership; management; field-based internships; curriculum, instruction, and assessment; supervision; research and evaluation; and other courses as needed.
• Assist in ongoing support of master’s and doctoral programs in educational leadership, including concentration strands in educational administration and curriculum and instruction.
• Mentor graduate students engaged in internship and practica experiences, and by serving on master’s and doctoral committees.
• Maintain an active research agenda addressing issues related to educational administration and leadership.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Doctorate in Educational Administration or other appropriate field, from an accredited institution.
ABD candidates may be considered, dependent upon projected date that the doctorate degree will be conferred.
Demonstrated evidence of ways research, teaching, and service contribute to building and sustaining equitable, diverse, and inclusive communities.
Preferred Education, Knowledge, Skills & Experience
If candidate is ABD, it is preferred that terminal degree be in hand by begin date of appointment.
Demonstrated leadership experience working in PK-12 settings at the state, district, and/or school level.
Preference will be given to those candidates who have evidence of successful college level teaching and a demonstrated potential for scholarly productivity.

The Department of Educational Leadership is committed to the preparation, support and collaboration with educators who seek or hold leadership positions in schools, school districts, boards, state and federal departments, agencies or higher education. The Department of Educational Leadership offers four master’s-level graduate programs (Curriculum Studies in Equity, Evaluation and Organizational Learning, Higher Education, and School Administration) and three concentrations within the Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Administration, and Higher Education), as well an undergraduate minor in Leadership Studies, and four post-baccalaureate certificates (Coaching and Mentoring, College Teaching and Learning, Community College Leadership, and Evaluation).
The Watson College of Education ( WCE ) (www.uncw.edu/ed) is a rapidly growing college with over 65 tenure-track faculty members working in undergraduate and master’s programs in the Department of Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, Literacy and Special Education and the Department of Instructional Technology, Foundations and Secondary Education, and master’s and doctoral programs in the Department of Educational Leadership. It offers several international study programs, a newly developed laboratory school, and maintains partnerships with numerous school districts, community colleges, and colleges/universities in the region.
