Starting faculty salary range for 2020-21 academic year is $57,354 – $65,815 for a 1.0 FTE, 168-day, academic year contract (9 month academic year contract). New faculty will be contracted for 168-day contract (9 month academic year contract) plus an additional 3 days to attend Instructional Strategies Institute training the first year. Excellent benefit package which includes medical, dental, and vision. Position provides an opportunity to maintain clinical practice with flexible daily/weekly schedule. Generous vacation time including 3-4 weeks during Winter Break, 1 week Spring Break, and several additional holidays throughout the academic year. Professional development funds are available as well as tuition waiver for employees and dependents studying at LBCC (restrictions and limitations apply).

This position is subject to Article 31 of the Faculty Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. In the event of a reduction in force, this position may be afforded less protection than non-Article 31 faculty. For more detailed information, please review the Faculty Contract.

As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.

Position Title: Nursing Faculty Division/Department: Nursing Location Healthcare Occupations Center, Lebanon, OR Job Summary:

Oversee or instruct all levels of nursing students, including CNA and RN, in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. Support student learning by providing excellent instruction in all settings, including online instruction. Help students achieve their potential in mastering clinical skills, technical and soft skills in Nursing. Actively and effectively, participate in the affairs of the division, college, and community.

Required Qualifications:

Requires a current, unencumbered license to practice as a registered nurse in Oregon and must be academically and experimentally qualified for the position. Requires at least a master’s degree in nursing; or a baccalaureate degree in nursing and a master’s degree in a related field with a post-master’s certificate in nursing from a program that is at least two semesters or three quarters in length; PLUS a minimum of three years’ of nursing experience. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in nursing who are enrolled and progressing in a master’s in nursing program may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent medical/surgical experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Requires the ability to work with staff and students.

Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.

Essential Duties:

Participate in the development of LBCC’s healthcare education in alignment with the college’s strategic plans, goals, core themes, values and vision. Identify program metrics in partnership with LBCC management and faculty.

Assist in piloting new curriculum delivery methods, such as tele-conferences, Ed-Net offering, distance learning, internet, and multi-media assisted instruction.

Develop curricula according to specific needs of the community and college programs.

Develop and conduct healthcare training courses, workshops or seminars.

Develop flexible teaching techniques for a wide variety of learners.

Prepare lectures and online materials for student instruction.

Participate in selecting appropriate student assignments.

Conduct clinical conferences.

Advise students on their progression and other related needs.

Assist in all levels of nursing skill development.

Evaluate student classroom, laboratory, and clinical performance. Compile reports reflecting the evaluation.

Function as a member of the nursing department.

Participate on department and college committees.

Work with advisory committees and professional partners to identify and meet the needs of the community pertaining to nursing curricula.

Perform duties according to College policies, contracts, job description, and work plan.

Perform other related duties as assigned.
