Under general supervision is responsible for all aspects of the completing the application process for prospective transfer students to the University, including retrieving transcripts and admissions documents, transcript evaluation and customer service. Provides lead support in coordinating the transition process from Junior College to TSU . Essential Duties Summary
  • Works with the undergraduate processing team by retrieving all admissions documents necessary to complete the undergraduate application process for all prospective transfer applicants.
  • Serves as lead in coordinating the transition process from Junior College to TSU by working with appropriate internal and external departments.
  • Evaluates transcripts for Texas Southern University course equivalencies and applies transfer credits to satisfy admission requirements for prospective transfer, former students and students seeking readmission to the university.
  • Visits local community colleges and junior colleges and assists in admitting prospective transfer students by promoting the university and its academic programs and student services in accordance with marketing strategies and recruitment goals.
  • Works with academic departments to host open house admission events in order to acquaint students with academic programs and services.
  • Retrieves, organizes and submits files and other admission related documents for prospective transfer students.
  • Serves as initial point of contact ( POC ) and provides customer service to all prospective transfer admission applicants. Responds to all inbound inquiries regarding admissions processes to include phone, email, and in-person inquiries.
  • Serves as a liaison for prospective transfer students and the university academic departments and services throughout the enrollment and registration process. Monitors progress of transfer students through enrollment process.
  • Works with other areas within Enrollment Services to provide information about the University’s enrollment services.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
