Job Description:

Title: Digital Artist
Department: Latino Education Institute
Supervisor: Kathleen Orengo
SSTA Approver: Kathleen Orengo

General Statement of Duties:
Under the leadership of the Program Manager, Digital Artist is responsible for facilitating workshops pertaining to identity, civic engagement, photography, and other forms of digital story-telling for Latino Education Institute program youth participants. Candidate must be a supportive, willing, positive, and energetic participant in the implementation of the outcome measurement system

Responsibilities:

1. Work in close cooperation with the Program Manager and lead facilitator in planned topics of the project.
2. Lead youth in a minimum of one community walk where youth will take photographs of community characteristics and challenges.
3. Develop and produce workshops that pertain to youth identity and civic engagement through the lens of photography and digital-story telling.
4. Support program coordinator and facilitators in the production of outputs pertaining to the final digital project.


Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

1. Good communication, organizational and time management skills necessary.
2. Must be able to work with a variety of people and meet deadlines.
3. Maintain a reliable and dependable attendance record.
4. Must be dependable, flexible and adaptable
5. Able to work independently and in a team setting

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate technical information in a way that is understandable to youth without any additional training or coaching.
2. Ability to work effectively with different stakeholder groups including district and school administrators, program coordinators, facilitators, teachers and youth.
3. Ability to work productively in a fast-paced environment.
4. Ability to work in interdisciplinary, cross-functional and multi-cultural environment.
