About the Job

Position Overview:

Starting salary: $58,000-$65,000
Hybrid (some in-person work required)

At the College of Education and Human Development (CEHD) at the University of Minnesota, we’re discovering who we are and why people need to know that. We have storytelling challenges, rooted in an evolving identity. Thankfully, you’re a problem solver who sees these as opportunities—and you’re an excellent storyteller to boot.

We need your help to uncover and tell our story through images and sound so we can:

Recruit and retain more students Welcome and keep world-class staff and faculty Better connect with our alumni Grow giving ($$) for student support Position our college as a leading institution Meet the communications needs of individuals and communities with diverse backgrounds and identities

If you’re a multimedia storyteller who understands the big picture and can execute on the details, apply. If you’re someone who can put together an animated one-minute explainer video as easily as they can produce an evocative, tear-jerking video profile of an alumni, apply. If you thrive on mission-driven and world-changing work, definitely apply!

In return, we’ll offer a supportive, collaborative team environment where we have each others’ backs. We’ll give you space and freedom to explore creative ideas, even ones that push the boundaries. We’ll be direct and honest in our coaching and feedback, and ask you to do the same. And you’ll be part of a learning community that extends beyond our college and offers pretty competitive benefits.

Plus, CEHD offers flexible work environments, including a flex schedule that allows for variations in starting and departure times, a compressed work week (40 hours of work in fewer than 5 days), telecommuting allowing work to be conducted at on/off-campus locations, and fully remote options with occasional in-person meeting attendance. Just know this position will require a higher amount of in-person work based on college and department needs.
