Plus, CEHD offers flexible work environments, including a flex schedule that allows for variations in starting and departure times, a compressed work week (40 hours of work in fewer than 5 days), telecommuting allowing work to be conducted at on/off-campus locations, and fully remote options with occasional in-person meeting attendance. Just know this position will require a higher amount of in-person work based on college and department needs.

Tl;dr: We need a multimedia producer to create photo/video/audio media, and we can offer a great place to work tied to an important mission.

Job Responsibilities: 

Capture, edit, and produce high-quality photo, video and audio content (70%)

    Develop photo, video, and audio marketing collateral for internal and external communications, including advertising campaigns, social media initiatives, digital marketing and events Use various media including graphics, animations, data visualization, music and voice overs to create professional-grade content Secure and archive permissions for use of photo/video/audio Curate a digital asset library of images and video content that can be used to reflect the brand in communications, marketing and press

Strategic thinking and consultation (25%)

    Determine the visual and audio components of marketing and communications projects, including developing storyboards and shot lists Oversee consistent, reliable visual storytelling that shares the stories of our students, faculty, staff and alumni. Consult with those looking to create video projects and make recommendations to the team on which projects to support Offer recommendations on external photo/video vendors for projects beyond the team’s scope and/or capacity

Support and training (5%)

    Stay abreast of changing practices and trends in multimedia production Offer training to staff, faculty, and staff on video best practices and how to make usable media using everyday tools Support members of the team in strategy development and non-multimedia projects as needed


Qualifications 

Required Qualifications: 

    Experience working with people with diverse backgrounds and identities Cinematography experience, including basic knowledge of common DSLR cameras & lenses Experience with photo/video/audio/production equipment Ability to pack and transport video camera(s), tripods, lighting, microphones, and other associated equipment to all sites and other necessary locations Knowledge and experience with non-linear editing software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, etc. Knowledge of Adobe After Effects or similar motion graphics software Knowledge of photo editing software, such as Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, etc. Experience making content accessible to diverse audiences Evidence of dependability, accuracy, attention to detail, meeting deadlines, and problem-solving skills  Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings, weekends and holidays (dependent upon event schedule) BA/BS plus at least four years of experience (Training/experience may be substituted for some education; please reach out with questions)

Preferred Qualifications: 

    Ability to multitask, prioritize, and use appropriate time management skills Effective communication and interpersonal skills necessary to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide range of faculty, staff, students, and external partners Ability to work independently, solve problems, and/or refer issues to appropriate authority Experience managing sensitive and confidential issues Excellent grammar, spelling, punctuation and proofreading skills Ability to travel (likely less than 5% of work hours)


About the Department 

Unit Overview: 

The Office of Communications, Marketing and Digital Strategy (OCMDS) tells the story of CEHD through a variety of media while serving as a service and support center for collegiate departments, academic departments, and collegewide centers. In partnership with communicators across the college, OCMDS collaboratively sets the strategic direction for internal and external marketing and communication efforts, offers consultation to faculty, staff and students, and provides resources to all stakeholders.
