Visitor Services Manager

Position Category: Staff - Full-Time

Summary:
Oversee all visitor related activities and inquiries. Develop and manage the docent and intern program to ensure that allvolunteer docents are trained in current museum practices and are motivated and appreciated. Work closely with museum staff to develop visitor centric activities, ensure access to programming for all visitors, and provide interpretive and logistic support for exhibitions and programs.
Under general supervision of the department or unit manager, performs moderately complex and confidential administrative support duties, which require a range of skills and knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
Composes, edits, and proofreads correspondence and reports, and prepares a range of administrative documents. Required Qualifications:
BA in Museum Studies, the arts, non-profit sector, or related field.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of managing and maintaining databases and records.
Knowledge of museum practice
Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Basic knowledge of art practice
Knowledge of basic office management

Skills:
Excellent written and oral communication
Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects, events, and people
Ability to work in a team environment
Creative and Innovative
Supervisory skills (volunteers, interns, and future staff)

Abilities:
Self-starter and results oriented
