Faculty, Non-Tenure Track, Lecturer Public and Community Health

Position Category: Faculty - Non Tenure Track (FT)

Summary:
Utah Valley University invites applications for a one-year Non-Tenure Track Lecturer in the department of Public & Community Health. The individual in this position will teach a variety of courses. The lecturer will plan, develop, and follow an approved course of study that includes measurable objectives for each course taught. Prepares instructional materials, supervises the classroom, and evaluates instruction and learning by means of written, verbal, and practical assessments. Adjusts teaching based on peer and supervisor feedback on teaching evaluations. Maintains and submits accurate and current reports and records related to student accountability, attendance, performance, and follow-up. Establishes and maintains office hours and advises students as needed. Attends department and college meetings as needed. Required Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited institution with a minimum earned master’s degree in public health. Evidence of successful teaching (Student Rating of Instructor, Peer Evaluations of teaching).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Knowledge of public and community health programs and course content.
* Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques, curriculum development, and evaluation and assessment of instruction.
*Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation.

Preferred Qualifications:
A Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Health Care Administration, Health Services Management, Public Health Policy & Administration, or Public Health related field.

Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements typical of teaching: extended use of keyboard for computer; extended time sitting, standing, and walking.
