Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The Facilities Administration department provides administrative services to the Facilities group, including review of processes in purchasing and hiring, planning and budgeting, and reporting financial, cost, and performance information.

Services include developing and maintaining policies and procedures manuals for each unit; re-engineering administrative processes and work design, compiling plans and assessment data; and assisting with facility group budgets.

Accounting services include management of utility accounts, billings to various constituents, and cost studies as directed by the Associate Vice Chancellor and others. This unit is a resource and liaison for the university’s Finance and Human Resource departments and also serves as customer care and problem resolution office.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The primary purpose of this position is to provide administrative support to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Business Affairs and the Directors who lead the four main areas of Facilities.

This position has been designated as mandatory personnel for the University and may be required to report to work during adverse weather conditions even though the University may be operating on an alternate schedule.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency and three years of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Associate’s degree in secretarial science, business administration, or a related discipline and one year of progressively responsible administrative/office management experience; or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in business administration or a related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
