The Event Coordinator & Gift Officer coordinates all
fundraising events for the College and Alumni Development office;
raises non-event dollars for the HCC Foundation; and maintains web
pages and creates marketing materials for development efforts.
Duties include successfully coordinating the Annual Summer Swing
Golf Tournament, Screech 5K Glow Run, ATHENA Leadership Breakfast,
and other events held by the Foundation; meeting targeted financial
goals; raising new dollars for the Foundation by event and
non-event revenues, including securing new scholarship donors and
directly soliciting new and existing donors. Other duties include
being visibly active in community events; using Banner ERP;
building event budgets; coordinating volunteers; and performing
other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
This is an exempt, professional staff position.
Employees of Harford Community College, including instructors
for online and virtual courses, must be residents of Maryland or
the contiguous states of Delaware, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West
Virginia or the District of Columbia; non-residents are expected to
relocate to meet this requirement.
A bachelor’s degree and one to three years of experience in
fundraising, development, or a related field are required,
- coordinating and executing events to a successful outcome and
tracking outcomes using metrics
- soliciting sponsorship gifts up to $10,000
- developing event budgets
- developing a communication strategy, marketing materials and
web content for events
- using Constant Contact and social media giving platforms.
An associate degree with at least five years of directly related
experience may be considered.
Applicants must have demonstrated ability to build community
relationships for fundraising. Experience coordinating
volunteers, using an ERP system, and/or writing donor/student
stories and press releases are desirable.
