The Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia (UVA) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the field of quantitative analysis. The position is open at the Assistant Professor level.


Applicants must have a doctorate in Decision Sciences, Data Science, Management Science, Operations Research, Statistics, or related field. Must have the following prior experience: ability to be a successful teacher of data science and decision analysis using the case method; excellence in research, such as top-tier publications or a growing pipeline; and, interacting and producing research relevant to practicing managers. Occasional travel required to second worksite, the UVA Darden DC Metro Campus, at 1100 Wilson Blvd, Arlington, VA.


This role will teach classes on topics including decision analysis, data analysis, optimization, data science in business, behavioral decision making, games and auctions and program management. Teach actively in Darden’s non-degree Executive Education program. Write cases to be taught to MBA students in data science and decision analysis. Participate in course development for MBA courses in data science and decision analysis using the case method and student-centered learning. Pursue research and teaching-related activities that relate to the practice of management and to be interested in establishing or continuing interactions with practicing managers as well as academicians. Publish research in top-tier business journals.
