Connecticut Institute of Technology at the University of New Haven

 

The Connecticut Institute of Technology (CIT) at the University of New Haven invites applications for a tenure track assistant professor or non-tenure track lecturer in Electrical and Computer Engineering fields as listed below. The expected starting date is August 2022.

 

CIT houses multiple degrees in CS/ECE/Data Science at both the BS and MS levels and participates in the PhD program in Engineering and Applied Science. The University’s Tagliatela College of Engineering is ranked in the top third in its category (institutions that do not offer a doctorate in engineering) by US News and World Report in 2022. The University of New Haven has been recognized by the NSA as a Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations (CAE-CO), one of only 22 universities in the United States to receive this prestigious designation. Our undergraduate Cybersecurity program has been ranked among the top 10 in the country by AccessCyber.org. The university has made cybersecurity a top priority in its centennial fundraising challenge with the slogan of "Securing Our Future".

 

Responsibilities
  • The ability to teach hands-on courses in the areas of cyber physical devices, autonomous systems and robotics, architecture for machine learning with application to electrical/computer systems, wearable devices or other related
  • For tenure-track position: Develop a research program that complements existing activities in the department and college (computing, cybersecurity, and networking) or other relevant areas such as autonomous systems and robotics to engage graduate and undergraduate students. Opportunities for research collaboration exist within the college and across the university. Existing faculty already have funded projects from NSA, NSF, DHS, ONR and existing collaborations with the MITRE Corp. Scholarly publications and grant writing to establish funded research is expected.
  • Service at the program, profession, departmental, college and university levels on various working groups and committees is also expected. Other duties may include working with organizations to secure industry-sponsored design projects and outreach/recruiting.

 

Requirements
  • A D. in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or closely related fields from an accredited institution.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to collegiality and teamwork.
