Job Summary:

The student experience extends beyond the classroom, and that's where Student Affairs shines. Our teams are organized by four theme areas: health and well-being, identity and inclusion, student leadership and community engagement, and student advocacy. We were brought together and built as Student Affairs just within the past five years to collectively support the whole student. We believe a student's success is as much about their well-being, community, and involvement at UW-Madison as it is their academic record.

We are seeking a communications manager -a new position- to join our central office team and help lead efforts to clarify, amplify, and engage students in these focus areas. Your role will be to identify where there are gaps or opportunities in communication and to build bridges through planning, process improvement, and creative endeavors.

There are marketers and communicators at various levels in Student Affairs. We are seeking a candidate who can help connect this work; an excellent facilitator who can align people around shared goals; a strong collaborator and influencer to collectively move initiatives forward. Bonus: you will be hiring a student multimedia intern to support this work.

Your canvas will primarily include the Student Affairs website, social media accounts, and a monthly staff newsletter.
