Job Description:

Position 1: To teach one face-to-face section of Spanish 101, Tuesdays and Thursdays 11:30-12:45. This is a whole-language course following the communicative approach.

Position 2: To teach one face-to-face section of English as a Second Language 165, Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30-6:45. This is an advanced ESL course focusing on academic reading and writing to support the success of students enrolled at the college.

Duties include but not limited to: Adjunct lecturers are responsible for all hours of instruction and may not change classes from face-to-face to online. Spanish 101 instructors work with the course coordinator on creation of common exams but otherwise each instructor decides how/when to evaluate student work.


Requirements:

Required Qualifications: Master's Degree completed or in progress at time of application; Native or near-native proficiency in the language being taught; Native or near-native proficiency in English; Teaching experience at either the high school or college level.

Preferred: Experience working with diverse populations and/or teaching pedagogies and/or multicultural teaching experience.
