Full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position with a preferred start date of August 15, 2022.

Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate/graduate professional education courses for the College of Education and Human Services at on-campus and off-campus sites and on-line; assist with state-wide initiatives, including grant activities, in Middle School Education. Responsibilities will also include advising undergraduate students, collaborating across university departments and the community, supervising student teachers, and engaging in scholarly activities.

Minimum Education Requirements:

Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction (Ph.D. or Ed.D) or related field is required. ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:
Three (3) years of teaching experience in public middle school for grades 5-9 required.

Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications:

Experience teaching middle grades, and program design/management of middle-level teacher preparation. Expertise in multicultural or social justice education, with additional background in one or more of the following areas: curriculum history and theory, teacher education, literacy strategies, foundations of education, or assessment. A demonstrated commitment to diversity and the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, students, and school-based personnel, especially in middle grades settings. Experience in teaching blended or online classes as well as face-to-face classes. A commitment to working in an interdisciplinary teaching and learning environment. Background in and willingness to assume a leadership role at the local, state, and/or national/international levels. Record of seeking external funding and participating in research and school-based projects.
