Position Announcement: Permanent, NTT Instructor & Education Innovator

Position Overview:

The Blended Lecturer provides a quality learning experience for students. Performs instruction-related duties and responsibilities on time and per the mission, policies, and procedures for the university, college, department, and program. Primary responsibility is teaching 12 hours of academic coursework in an online environment, and working with the Center for eLearning and Connected Environments (CeCE) to develop, teach and facilitate online coursework for the Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies - Public Health.

The position is full-time employment (40 hours/week); Due to the online format, the instructor will be responsible for the structure of their schedule accordingly. The expected salary range for this position is commensurate with credentials and experience. The Instructor is responsible for instruction and course work for 12 academic hours per semester (fall and spring) and maintains office hours per university, college, and department guidelines.

Teaches, advises, and mentors students, evaluates student performance, and maintains department and student records per university policies. Adheres to the educational philosophy of the university. Works collaboratively with colleagues and professional peers. Participates in university meetings that relate specifically to faculty. Serves on department, college, and university committees as requested. Prepares departmental reports as requested. Engages in teaching, service, and scholarly and/or creative activities as defined by the tenure and promotion policy in the UCO Employee and Faculty Handbook. Faculty are expected to support & facilitate the department/school/college academic and university missions, visions, & long-term goals.

College/Department Overview:

The College of Education and Professional Studies currently has 100 full-time and over 100 part-time faculty organized in seven departments. The college offers 23 undergraduate majors and 28 graduate majors. All teacher education programs are CAEP accredited. Other programs are recognized at the state and national levels with accreditations by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), the American Dietetic Association (ADA), the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), and the Oklahoma Educational Quality and Accountability Commission (OEQA). UCO's College of Education and Professional Studies has an enrollment of nearly 4,800 students, about one-fourth of whom are graduate students. Department is made up of four undergraduate degrees and three master's programs. Exercise Fitness Management, Physical Education/Health, Public Health, and Outdoor Community Recreation. Graduate programs: Athletic Training, Master's in Public Health - Community Engagement, and Wellness Management - Exercise Science.

Department Specific Essential Job Functions:

Duties include teaching 12 hours of academic coursework in an online format, utilizing the University of Central Oklahoma's learning platform (D2L) and other supporting technologies as necessary. Courses included in the Public Health and Master's in Public Health program

In addition, the successful candidate will facilitate assisting full-time faculty with online course development and facilitation as opportunities exist. Service to the department is required in addition to teaching responsibilities but consists mainly of departmental meetings, committees, and maintaining office hours per university policy. No other scholarship or service obligations are required.

Additional Information and Requirements:

• Teaching, research, departmental/school, and university experience are expected. Experience teaching higher education (undergraduate and/or graduate level) courses in an online, blended, hybrid, and/or face-to-face environment.

• An earned Master's degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in the field-specific to Public Health (exceptions require Academic Affairs approval).

• Possesses excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Expertise in Public Health, including public health working experience in the field.

• Experience in developing online hybrid and blended courses.
