Position Summary:
The Scheduling and Conferences unit seeks and Event Support Lead to support University events on campus. This position performs a variety of semi-skilled duties as assigned by Scheduling Management to provide support for University events and other associated tasks. This role will be performing assigned duties within a team oriented work environment to effectively and efficiently provide support for event operations throughout the academic year and summer season, this includes high priority enrollment focused events. This position is service oriented and must be able to work harmoniously with other staff, faculty, students and external clients on campus while performing the duties of the role. Assignments of duties may vary depending upon the tasks required to be performed on any given day, as dictated by the event schedule. Must be flexible to work various shifts as assigned by Management.

Typical job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following daily tasks:
- Prepare facilities, rooms, and outdoor spaces for specific
events as
- directed by Scheduling Management.
- Work with and provide quality control for student groups
setting up, taking down and storing event equipment such as ASWU
Stage or dance floor,
- for student organized events.
- Attend Event Production Team meetings on a weekly
basis.
- Coordinate event set up details with both internal and external
event
- coordinators; coordinate with contractors and suppliers for
special events. ○ Keep electronic records and databases of event
set up diagrams and notes, furnishing and supply inventory and
locations.
- Assist Facilities Services Staff as time allows.
- Move furniture and equipment as required to perform duties of
the
- position as requested by the supervisor.
- Complete event related service or work requests assigned by
Facilities Services Support Leadership.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional job duties:
- Perform job duties as assigned by Scheduling Management in an
efficient and professional manner within given deadlines to assure
University event preparations are properly organized, set up, and
supported. Once the event has concluded, carefully secure and store
event equipment, clean up the facility, reset facility furnishings
for the next scheduled use, and perform event related custodial
duties.
- Must notify the supervisor on duty in a timely manner of any
equipment or facilities needing repair or replacement.
- Responsible for practicing safe work habits, utilizing safety
equipment as required and immediate reporting of unsafe conditions
to the supervisor.
- Provide exemplary customer service at all times.
- May be required to assist with training and supervision of
work-study students who are responsible for supporting events on
campus.
- May be asked to assist with basic technology set up, teardown
or troubleshooting for events that occur outside of regular
business hours.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Any combination of education and experience that provides the
required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential
functions of the position.
- One to three years of experience in event support
preferred.
- Ability to work independently and harmoniously with all staff
in a team-oriented work environment.
- Must be able to calmly and effectively assist in emergency
situations.
- Availability to work whatever shifts are necessary to support
an event.
- Must reside in Oregon by the first day of employment or be able
to perform work primarily in Oregon
Typical Work Schedule
40 hours flexible/Tuesday - Saturday
Physical Demands & Working Condition:
Ability to frequently and safely lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work from ladders and grids up to 50 feet in height and catwalks suspended from a ceiling. Ability to work for extended periods of time while walking, standing, bending, stooping, climbing, lifting objects, and pushing/pulling heavy carts of equipment while often exposed to dirt, dust, odors and inclement weather in areas sometimes dimly-lit. Sometimes requires traveling from building to building outdoors and occasionally traversing steps/stairs.
An employer-paid pre-placement physical required.
Salary: $16.45 per hour
