Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit

The College of Health and Human Services ( CHHS ) is an interdisciplinary and integrated academic unit that includes three professional schools: the School of Nursing, the School of Social Work, and the School of Health and Applied Human Sciences. The CHHS Business Core Services Team ( BCST ) provides centralized financial, human resources, facility management, systems training and support, and reporting services to all CHHS units.

Brief Summary of Work for this Position

The Business Services Coordinator processes the monthly payroll process for part time faculty and supplemental compensation and manages the independent contractor and dual employment process for specific functional units within the College. This position also prepares and processes travel, direct pay invoices, reimbursements, and routine financial and accounting transactions such as journal entries, interdepartmental invoices, deposits, etc. for specific functional units within the College. In addition, this position completes monthly budget reporting for specific functional units of the College, provides basic budget management, and provides funding information to other UNCW units. This position also assists with managing the CHHS online store. The Business Services Coordinator serves as backup for the Business Officer and other members of the Business Core Service Team.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Preferred education, professional skills and experience

Preference will be given to applicants who have the following:
  • Experience working in a higher education environment.
  • Knowledge of Banner Finance, uShop, and Chrome River, or similar ERP system.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of UNCW or UNC System financial policies and practices.
