Position Announcement

Under the direction of the Senior Associate Athletic Director of Compliance, this Assistant Athletic Director will have day-to-day oversight of all football team NCAA Compliance and Utah Tech University policies and procedures. This will include but not be limited to: reviewing football recruiting forms, CARA logs, admission and transfer pre-signing evaluations, official/unofficial visits, comp tickets, staff declarations, reporting of any violations, and all other aspects of teaching NCAA rules and regulations. This position will also oversee/educate/develop NIL for all student athletes and be main contact for any outside groups/individuals. Responsibilities
  • Ensure Football staff and team compliance with NCAA, conference and university rules and regulations related to recruitment, eligibility, admissions, financial aid, housing, and the physical welfare of student athletes. Monitor institutional adherence to these rules and regulations.
  • Formulate and implement compliance strategies and systems for football program and support services to ensure NCAA rules and regulations are followed.
  • Aid in preparing Compliance Policy and Procedures Manual and electronic forms.
  • Oversee the Name, Image, and Likeness of student-athletes from a compliance perspective, including education, policy, monitoring, and implementing them within the Athletics Department. Point of contact for all student athletes and any outside group or individual.
  • Educate and audit football staffs on Jump Forward, Teamworks and Sharepoint forms.
  • Assist with all NCAA rules education for all student-athletes, coaches, staff, faculty, boosters, and others, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.
  • At least one (1) year of NCAA Compliance work experience at the Division 1 level required.
  • Experience with implementing Jump Forward forms/reports required; experience with Compliance Assistant and Teamworks (both NCAA compliance tools/programs) preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact well with a wide range of people, from student athletes to academic administrators.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics policies and procedures, both within Utah Tech University and with NCAA, as well as the ability to stay abreast of any NCAA regulation changes that require changes to campus policies and procedures.
  • Ability to maintain attention to detail and to switch-task between competing priorities and multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours during peak athletic seasons and compliance-related deadlines.
  • Travel with football team to away contests and any other teams, if needed.
Supplemental Information

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time professional staff (overtime-exempt) position. Annual salary of $50,000 - $55,000 depending on qualifications & experience. Desired start date of October 1, 2022.
