The study abroad assistant provides support to the work of the Swarthmore Off-Campus Study office. This is a one year, limited term non-exempt position with a targeted start date of August 1, 2022 and an anticipated end date of July 31, 2023.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Provide assistance with the on-line credit approval process.
• Advise and provide pre-departure support for students.
• Assist with outreach, orientation, and re-entry events.
• Prepare affiliation agreements.
• Supervise student workers.
• Coordinate social media.
• Provide support for the director, associate director, and office coordinator as needed.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree.
• Knowledge of a foreign language and experience living, studying, and/or working abroad.
• Education abroad advising and administrative experience, preferably in a college or university setting, is desirable.
• Excellent computer skills including familiarity with Word, Excel, Power Point and databases (knowledge of Terra Dotta software preferred).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary.
• Ability to work independently and strong attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Previous experience working in an academic setting with international education knowledge and experience preferred.
• High level of comfort and expertise in the use of technology in an office and educational setting.
• Strong organization skills including the ability to effectively prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a supportive and collaborative fashion, contributing as a team member to build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues and students.
