Work Schedule: Monday through Friday; 8-5pm; Evening and weekend hours required to support programs; approximately 10 weekends per year. There will be 1-2 weeks of overnight travel due to program needs.

Description of Position:

Situated in the General Hugh Shelton Leadership Center at North Carolina State University, the Program Specialist for Outreach and Scholars Programs will work with the Assistant Director to inspire, educate, and develop values-based leaders committed to personal integrity, professional ethics, and selfless service. In particular, the Program Specialist will support the Shelton Scholars Program, which is a four-year cohort-based opportunity for students to participate in colloquies, service learning, and personal mentoring to synthesize their academic training and professional aspirations as emerging, civic-minded leaders. Primary duties of the Program Specialist include, but are not limited to facilitating and designing leadership development workshops; overseeing and coordinating the logistics for events; co-instructing university-level courses with the Assistant Director; cultivating and sustaining collaborative community partnerships; and, occasionally, co-leading weekend and/or week-long immersive leadership development experiences for pre-college and undergraduate students.
