Job Summary

The Lecturer position in Teacher Education is responsible for teaching a course load of 12 to 15 semester hours during fall and spring semesters with a minimum of 10 office hours. This position will support developing knowledge and skills related to effective teaching practices, classroom management, and use of instructional technologies; evaluating students relative to CAEP and Alabama Department of Education standards; guiding related field experiences; supervising clinical experiences; working with pre-service candidates/in-service teachers in public school settings; advising education majors; participating in service activities; collaboration with local districts and agencies serving culturally and economically diverse children; collaboration with faculty in assessment, recruitment and retention activities; curriculum planning; and academic advisement.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Master’s degree in Education
   2. Minimum of three years of successful teaching experience
   3. Professional Educator P-12 Certificate
   4. Knowledge of Alabama state initiatives such as the Alabama Math, Science, and Technology (STEM) initiative, edTPA, Alabama Literacy Act, or other state/national initiatives
