Resident Success Coordinator

 

University Housing at Coastal Carolina University seeks a dynamic individual for the position of Resident Success Coordinator reporting to the Associate Director for Resident Success. This is a full time, live-in professional staff position. University Housing has experienced exciting and rapid growth over recent years. University Housing is home to more than 4600 students.

 

The Resident Success Coordinator will serve as is a live-in staff member working directly with University Housing’s Resident Success unit to foster a student environment fulfilling the goals and mission of University Housing, with a focus on resident care, safety and success. The Resident Success Coordinator will participate and support Resident Success unit functions as they pertain to student conduct, case management, crisis response, and administrative tasks.

 

Duties include, but are not limited to: serve as a case manager, hearing officer and administrative support; support of the Resident Success Unit operations and the communities; assist with the management of facilities; oversee administrative processes; and mentor and nurture students in their academic and personal development through engagement, advising, and counseling; serve in a 24/7 administrator on-call and support staff rotations-with a minimum response time expectation; and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements: A master’s degree and experience in student services programs and response to student behavioral issues is required. Must have a valid state driver's license.  Student organization advising, adjudicating student conduct cases, and co-curricular programming based in student development theory experience is preferred. Prior direct supervision of student para-professional staff and professional experience in a university or college student housing setting, including live-in/live-on duties is also preferred.

Student Services Program Coordinator II (CB70/61122852/FTE-S00642P), full-time position with benefits. SC State Pay Band: 05. Salary will commensurate with qualifications and experience. Normal work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Must be flexible to meet the special scheduling needs of the university.  Serves in a 24/7 administrator on-call and support staff rotations-with a minimum response time expectation.  Able to work evenings and weekends throughout the year and able to respond to on-campus crisis and emergencies. Able to attend overnight conferences and drive state vehicles transporting staff and students for work functions. Physically able to walk through communities, including up/down stairs in communities without elevators. Considered “essential personnel” and required to participate in campus-wide emergencies such as weather and structural emergencies.
