POSITION DESCRIPTION

This position will plan, administer and assess the Be Well Bergen program and will make recommendations utilizing data gathered through assessment. Continuously improves the wellness plan for the College and collaboratively works among departments to build and maintain a robust wellness program to staff and students.

  • Plans, designs, implements and evaluates a comprehensive wellness program for all employees and students at the College.
  • Focuses on all aspects of wellness including but not limited to: physical and mental health, financial, social and spiritual wellness with an emphasis on developing activities and events that prevent and manage chronic disease.
  • Fosters a collaborative culture that values and respects all College members by utilizing facilities, faculty and staff expertise and services already in place at the College.
  • Provides cross training opportunities to all employees and ensures offerings and resources are responsible to the innovations and challenges that are relevant at the College.
  • Promotes a “culture of care” environment by promoting positive lifestyle choices that influence all aspects of wellness and foster interpersonal relationships and an overall sense of caring and compassion for all faculty and staff.
  • Provides professional engagement and development opportunities that will prepare employees to utilize their enhanced health to help fulfill the College’s vision, mission, values and strategic initiatives.
  • Establishes relationship with businesses within the community and engages local industries as partners in the development and maintenance of the programs available.
  • Develops, implements and maintains a communication plan to share relevant information consistently and openly through the implementation of a dedicated Be Well Bergen webpage, monitored email account and social media platforms through cross departmental collaboration.
  • Prepares, track, monitors and adheres to an annual budget; does cost projections for all activities, programs and courses.
  • Supports our commitment to Inclusion, Diversity and Equity.
  • Performs additional tasks or duties as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources and Organizational Development or other designated management.

SALARY AND BENEFITS

  • Grant Funded Position - Annual Salary is of $50,000.
  • NJ Educators Health Plan with free Vision and Dental. NJ State Pension plan.
  • 15 vacation days, 15 sick days, 4 personal days, 2 floating holidays, all designated holidays and 5 non-designated holidays for a total of 52 days a year. 3 Partial Sick Days.
  • Tuition reimbursement opportunities for staff and their family 6 months after hire.

QUALIFICATIONS

Demonstrates understanding of the community college mission. Possesses a strong understanding of the uses of
information technology to deliver, monitor and evaluate programs and services for staff and the ability to work
collaboratively across various constituencies of the College. Strong interpersonal as well as technical skills and must be detail-oriented. Technologically proficient in common office desktop software and familiar with cloud based computing
and collaborative platforms and software.

Education: Bachelor’s Degree required in related field
Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience developing and/or maintaining staff wellness programs, experience in
higher education.
