Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost, the District Director of Student Affairs is responsible for facilitating the execution of operations related to student affairs. Provides district-wide leadership to advance the strategic direction of the 3 Goals and 8 Principles of the College.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*
Essential Performance Requirements
- Ensures effective communication to the Office of the Provost and to other stakeholders of decisions and information relating to student affairs
- Leads the development and updates of departmental operational procedures and guidelines and facilitates the creation and maintenance of supporting documents
- Coordinates the timely review and updating of college-wide policies and procedures to identify changes relating to student services
- Collaborates with the Office of Grants Development & Compliance for the implementation, compliance monitoring, and reporting requirements of grants focused on student support services
- Collaborates with the Office of Institutional Research and campus personnel to deliver surveys relevant to student affairs
- Collaborates with Principle advisory work teams and campus student affairs leaders on operations related to student affairs
- Collaborates with other College teams to implement strategies that support the College goals, principles, and major initiatives
- Collaborates with Vice Presidents for Student Affairs in the development of college-wide master calendars of recurring events and activities
- Facilitates meetings with the Student Affairs Council
- Ensures completion of the annual institutional effectiveness plan for district student affairs area
- Provides supervision of and guidance to district-level Student Affairs personnel
- Establishes and monitors annual budgets for the District Student Affairs Office
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as needed to directly support essential performance requirements achievement
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College
- Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
- Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
Works under the general supervision of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost.

Required Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree
- Three (3) years working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements in a higher education setting
- Three (3) years’ experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others)
- Doctoral degree
- Experience leading the planning, implementation, and assessment of innovative student development programs and services to support student success
- Experience working with multilingual and multicultural communities
- Knowledge of State and Federal requirements applicable to higher education
- Knowledge and understanding of community colleges
- Knowledge, sensitivity, and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of the students we serve and sensitivity to historically underrepresented groups
- Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with diverse populations
- Highly skilled in oral and written communication
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment and a setting that is diverse and urban
- Ability to think critically to effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to faculty and staff to meet College and campus deliverables
- Ability to use computer applications and enterprise systems, including proficiency using word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software
