Salary for Announcement
The salary range for this position is $45,300 – $56,700. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based upon a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, education, experience, specialty and training.
The above salary ranges represent the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the ranges of possible compensation at the time of posting. MSU Denver offers a full benefits package.

Position Summary
The Event Coordinator schedules, coordinates, and implements all internal/external events and meetings for the School of Hospitality as well as for internal/external clients. This includes face-to-face, hybrid, and virtual events. Examples include site visits, meal functions, outreach and recruitment events, internal meetings, advisory board meetings, retreats, and stakeholder events.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Arranges all event logistics including scheduling, staffing, venue/site selection, food and beverage, marketing, and all other event functions.
- Creates and manages banquet event orders and other meeting/event project management documents.
- Ensures and enforces State, University, and School guidelines and policies.
- Contacts and coordinates operating participant vendors and suppliers to accommodate clients’ meeting and event needs.
- Provides staffing and training of student volunteers, staff, and other support.
- Assesses appropriate event charges for assigned events, builds quotes or pricing proposals and oversees contracts, final billing, and FOAPAL reallocations.
- Conducts post-event evaluation.
- Assists in course scheduling, room scheduling, and other administrative and department support.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the School.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent relevant experience in event or catering
- Demonstrates ability to create and manage industry standard forms and use event management software
- 3 years of experience in events, catering, or relevant field
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, events, or related field
- Food preparation and back of house experience
- Event or food service certification
- Knowledge of alcohol service in event settings
Typically Monday-Friday 8am – 5pm, with occasional events on nights/weekends.
