Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Centre for Information Technology in Education within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 515493), to commence as soon as possible to June 30, 2023.
Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in Social Science, Education, Psychology or a related discipline. They should have at least 1 year of relevant working experience, good communication skills, and an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese). Applicants should have strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and be self-motivated. Preference will be given to those who are familiar with the local education system with experience working with schools and managing educational research projects. Knowledge of analyzing quantitative research data using advanced statistical methods (e.g., MPlus, R) is an advantage. The ability to work on a tight schedule to meet project deadlines is essential to succeed in this role. They should also be responsible and able to work independently and in a team with different stakeholders (e.g., NGOs, schools, teachers, and parents).
The appointee will work on a project entitled “eCitizen Education 360: An extension of the Learning and Assessment for Digital Citizenship” (e360 (2022)). The purpose of the project is to understand teaching and learning opportunities and outcomes during (and after) the fifth wave of school suspension and how the outcomes are influenced by a comprehensive range of factors (or enablers) at the school, teacher, parent, and student level. He/She is expected to lead the project team to coordinate different aspects of the project and to conduct research in a collaborative manner as outlined below:
