As a Scrum Master, you will coach software development teams to ensure that teams follow Agile practices and scrum framework values. You will work to increase team efficiency and provide motivation and guidance for process improvement. Duties:

Using the agile methodology values, principles, and practices you will guide, train, mentor, and support scrum teams resulting in continual improvement efforts and highly efficient self-organizing teams delivering on-time impactful projects to the organization. 

  • Provides leadership to a team or teams and facilitates planning, team learning in the form of sprint reviews/retrospectives, and adaptation of the process to ensure quality of team/solutions 
  • Advocates and teaches Agile methodology, ensuring that the team is always following the framework fostering an environment of continuous improvement/learning and driving substantial improvement at the team, portfolio and organization levels
  • Guides team members in achieving maturity in Agile principles with a track record of increasing velocity as team(s) mature
  • Champion the empirical approach (transparency, adaptation, inspection) for complex work by continually educating all scrum team members and stakeholders on the benefits.  
  • Works closely with the stakeholders to ensure high velocity and high quality of delivery, while identifying and helping to resolve impediments that emerge throughout the software development cycle
  • Champion scrum team and stakeholder collaboration as a key success factor. Work with the scrum team and stakeholders to continually grow and mature relationships in and outside of projects. 
  • Serves, leads, coaches and supports multiple simultaneous Agile teams on high-complexity initiatives consisting of internal, external, and business/technical resources in delivery of IT and business products and solutions
  • Organizes, facilitates and appropriately timeboxes scrum ceremonies and agile practices such as sprint planning, daily standup, backlog refinement, sprint review, and sprint retrospective alongside the stakeholders, ensuring the scrum team(s) adhere to the Agile values of courage, focus, commitment, respect and openness in delivering solutions
  • Supports the stakeholders and scrum teams through maintaining data in the appropriate Agile toolset to provide transparency creating visibility to ‘what’ and ‘how’ teams are performing through valuable team metrics
  • Champions strong team environments with high morale and team cohesion where the team members constructively challenge each other, have a sense of ownership, and advocate for the right long-term decision-making
  • Preparing and distributing insightful project status reports to all project stakeholders to enable understanding of project timelines, current activities and any barriers to a successful project completion.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Require a Bachelor's degree earned by date of hire and two (2) or more years of relevant experience OR Associate's degree earned by date of hire and four (4) or more years of relevant experience.

 

Formal training or certification(s) in project management techniques

Formal training or certification(s) in Scrum/Agile techniques and frameworks

 

This position is available to persons who are currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time and indefinite basis. (Persons authorized to work on such a basis include US citizens, lawful permanent residents (“green card” holders), asylees, refugees, and temporary residents under IRCA.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

The Scrum Master is part of the Solution Delivery department in IT Services. We are looking for leaders with a firm grasp of agile practices and the following qualifications.

  • Two (2) or more years prior experience on a software development / integration team either as a Scrum Master or other member of the Team.
  • Proven expert understanding of multiple Agile frameworks
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams across the organization
  • Ability to implement, enhance and coach Scrum/Agile principles, techniques, and frameworks
  • Ability to lead engagements with stakeholders to understand, troubleshoot, negotiate and resolve reported conflicts, problems, and issues.
  • Programming experience or demonstrated familiarity with the technical concepts and logic
  • Proven track record for leading continuous improvement to help teams clarify goals and actions to achieve them
  • Demonstrated experience in business analysis, product/project management, or product development
  • Proven strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including demonstrated experience identifying, defining and quantifying problems; collecting or interpreting data, establishing facts, and providing effective solutions
