Lecturer or Assistant Teaching Professor in Marketing

The Black School of Business at Penn State Behrend is seeking qualified applicants for a non-tenure-track, two-year fixed-term position in marketing with the possibility for renewal, starting Fall 2022. Depending on the qualification, candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of Lecturer (master's degree) or Assistant Teaching Professor (terminal degree).

Required qualifications include master's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related discipline; record of relevant industry experience (minimum of year of experience with preference given to candidates with 3+ years) in marketing, business administration, or related field. The successful candidate must be committed to excellence in teaching while embracing diversity and inclusiveness.

Responsibilities include teaching, professional development, and services. Typically, the base teaching load for full-time faculty is 24 credits per academic year with the potential for some variation. The courses for teaching include a combination of marketing courses at the undergraduate level. Specific teaching assignments may include courses in global/international marketing, B2B Marketing, personal selling, social media, advertising and promotions, and the introductory course in marketing. The fixed term lecturer is expected to continue with professional development activities to stay current in the field and is encouraged to access state-of-the-art marketing applications. The Black School of Business will support and fund the professional development. Services to school or college committees are expected, and all faculty members will be assigned with student advising.

Salary will be negotiable and competitive with other AACSB-accredited schools of business.

The Black School of Business is accredited by AACSB International, listed among the Best Business Schools by Princeton Review, and offers 9 undergraduate majors, a hybrid MBA delivered at two locations, a Master of Professional Accounting (MPAcc), and an online Master of Project Management (MPM) program, distinctive programs in the country, and an International Business degree, which also allows students to specialize in a functional area such as business economics or finance. The Black School houses the Center for Financial Literacy and the Center for Family Business. The school supports a growing, all-campus interest in research that addresses issues of women's health, energy and sustainability, and polymer science.

The Black School of Business occupies a new $30 million facility with the School of Engineering, providing a basis for a multi-disciplinary educational experience for students, interdisciplinary research for faculty, and joint opportunities for industry engagement. The $20 million endowments, the market value of approximately $44 million today, provide significant support for the school's programs. The endowment helps fund undergraduate scholarships, graduate assistantships, library and information technology resources, outreach activities, several faculty chairs, endowed professorships, and new programming initiatives.
