Applied Music Instructor­­ (Trumpet)

The Music Department of Colby College in Waterville, Maine invites applications for an Applied Music Instructor in trumpet (one year, part-time, renewable). The successful candidate will have experience in playing and teaching classical trumpet. Candidates with additional experience in teaching jazz trumpet are especially encouraged to apply. Principal duties will include teaching applied trumpet lessons and performing as Principal Trumpet with the Colby Symphony Orchestra (Attendance is required at weekly orchestra rehearsals), with possible additional performance opportunities with the Colby Jazz Band and/or Wind Ensemble. The person occupying the position will also be expected to be actively involved in the music department’s efforts to attract qualified student musicians to the College.
