Job Summary

The Conference on World Affairs (CWA) at the University of Colorado Boulder encourages applications for an Outreach Specialist/Project Coordinator ! The coordinator will lead outreach and design activities directly related to providing services for the Conference.

Who We Are

The CWA aims to foster a deeper understanding of issues to benefit students, faculty, and staff, the Boulder Community, and the people of Colorado. To that end, the conference traditionally hosts a week-long event featuring 100 renowned speakers presenting in a myriad of sessions and panel discussions on the CU-Boulder campus during the first week of April each year. Additionally the CWA plans and hosts the ‘CWA Speaker Series’ at various times throughout the fall and spring semesters and focuses on individual distinguished guests or single panel discussions.

The 74th CU Boulder Conference on World Affairs is set to be held April 6-9, 2022. The 2022 conference will include a weekend day to expand its accessibility, and it will be a four-day event to allow more speakers to participate in the entire conference. As of now, preparations are underway for a fully in-person event with many sessions still being live-streamed online. CWA’s final form will be in accordance with university guidelines for campus events in spring 2022.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
  • Interactions with university faculty and staff, students, donors, vendors, and the general public.
  • Assist the Conference Coordinator with specific CWA projects in conjunction with conference planning, CWA events, or student related activities throughout the Conference cycle.
What You Should Know
  • This is a full time, temporary position anticipated to begin August 1, 2022 and continue for 9 months through the end of April 2023.
  • This position is in a hybrid work situation.
  • All University of Colorado Boulder employees are required to follow the campus COVID-19 vaccine requirement .
    • New employees are responsible for providing proof of vaccination or receiving a medical or religious exemption within 30 days of employment.


What We Can Offer
  • The pay for this position is $18.22 per hour.
Benefits
Temporary positions at the University of Colorado are not benefits-eligible, however, all positions are eligible for paid sick leave .

What We Require
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Experience with Conference Planning, including speaker recruitment and session planning.
What You Will Need
  • Proficiency with Microsoft suite.
  • Proficiency with Google Interface.
  • Database Management.
What We Would Like You To Have
  • Previous Higher Education Experience.
  • Experience planning with Student based programs/events.
  • Experience with Student recruitment and engagement.
