Assistant Women’s Golf Coach ( Athletics Coach 1 – MR 08 )

The Assistant Women’s Golf Coach provides support to the Head Coach with all aspects of the Women's Golf program.

Primary responsibilities:
  • Statistics – In depth knowledge of golf statistics; know how to take the feedback given by the SA’s and the stats that they keep and create spreadsheets with feedback; and have profound knowledge working with Golfstat, Birdiefire, Gameforge, Golfweek, and Anova Programs
  • Social Media Liaison – Have sound knowledge of how to use Photoshop, and other graphic software, so that you can manage all program social media platforms
  • Work with student-athletes when assigned by head coach
  • Work at the PDC (Player Development Complex) when assigned by the head coach
  • Recruiting efforts which may include identification of prospective student-athletes (PSA), correspondence with PSA’s throughout the year (emails, mailings, phone calls); PSA evaluations, PSA contacts, official visits, unofficial visits, recruiting services, and admissions procedures when assigned
  • Complete all compliance recruiting forms and/or logs
  • Assist head coach with communication between department staff members (i.e. academic advising, sports medicine, equipment & facilities, marketing & promotions, sports information, and Mocs Vision)
  • Assist head coach with daily communications with student-athletes
  • Organize community service and community engagement
  • Assist head coach with camps and clinics
  • Assist head coach with maintaining compliance forms and/or logs
  • Work with the compliance staff to complete practice logs and other required NCAA paperwork as assigned by head coach
  • Work with the Athletic Performance staff to ensure proper nutritional, strength, and conditioning needs for the Women's Golf student-athletes as assigned by head coach
  • Work with the Athletic Training staff, team physicians, and coaching staff, regarding Women's Golf student-athletes health and well-being as assigned by head coach
  • Assist with team travel and recruiting travel, and lead preparation for both
  • Assist with dropping off and picking up equipment, gear, etc., as assigned by head coach
  • Assure all players have daily transportation to and from practice
  • Assist and support superintendent at the PDC as assigned by head coach
  • Assist head coach with home tournament preparation
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Experience with knowledge and compliance of NCAA rules
  • Experience with knowledge and compliance of USGA/R&A rules
  • Demonstrated proficiency in statistics and a record of accomplishment in collegiate golf (playing and/or coaching)

Minimum Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant, progressively responsible experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A valid driver’s license is required.
