The Cognitive and Affective Neuroscience ( CAN ) Lab led by Dr. Jennifer Robinson at Auburn University seeks candidates for a research assistant (post baccalaureate level) who will serve as a lab manager to start late summer/early fall. Duties will include research project planning, participant recruitment, maintenance of ongoing research programs, data management, and assisting with preparation of grants and manuscripts. There will also be opportunities to develop independent research projects. This position is ideal for aspiring graduate students or research scientists.
The CAN Lab has a diverse research portfolio, ranging from virtual clinical trials to neuroimaging projects. Our lab seeks to better understand brain function, with a particular interest in the interplay between the central and autonomic nervous systems. To this end, we are actively engaged at the Auburn University MRI Research Center, which houses state-of-the-art neuroscience tools such as a Siemens 3T Verio (new as of 2022) and 7T MAGNETOM scanner (which will be upgraded in 2023). Successful candidates should have interest in developing research skills in these methodologies.
Currently, the lab is funded by industry contracts and research gifts. This position will be renewable contingent on performance and funding.
