Job Summary:

The Clinical Research Team Manager will function on the Management Team of an oncology clinical research program within the Clinical Research Central Office (CRCO) at the University of Wisconsin Carbone Cancer Center (UWCCC). Under the direction of the Clinical Research Pod Manager, the incumbent will provide clinical support, leadership, and supervision to a Disease-Oriented Team (DOT) as it pertains to Phase I, II and Phase III clinical research protocol.

Responsibilities:

Makes methodological recommendations for multiple clinical trials simultaneously or clinical trials with unique complexity, performs research activities, and compiles and analyzes the quarterly review of all Principal Investigator accounts to aid in the performance of the clinical trials research process. Supervises staff and functions under the Principal Investigator's medical license and cannot perform any tasks that by state or local law require a medical license to perform.
  • 20% Schedules logistics and secures resources for a defined clinical research trial of high complexity and/or multiple research trials
  • 10% Recruits, screens, and enrolls trial participants, collects complex information, performs medical assessments, and answers detailed questions with supervision from a medically licensed professional
  • 10% Collects, prepares, processes, analyzes, and submits participant data and samples to appropriate entities, adhering to research protocols and compliance with applicable policies and procedures
  • 20% Assists with review of current research trials, development of operational protocols and work unit policies, and makes recommendations to leadership for improvements
  • 10% Serves as a subject matter expert and main point of contact for clinical research participants providing information regarding research procedures, expectations, and informational inquiries
  • 25% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 5% Monitors program budgets and approves unit expenditures

Education:

Preferred
Bachelor's Degree
Preferred focus: biomedical or social science, healthcare or related field.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical research, 4 or more preferred.
- Experience in oncology strongly preferred.
- Supervisory/management experience preferred.

License/Certification:

Preferred

SOCRA- Certification in Clinical Research Preferred
CCRP, ACRP, CCRA, CCRC, ACRP-CP all comparable certifications
