Assistant Director - Honors - 220000011B
The Haslam College of Business at the University of Tennessee is seeking an assistant director to work with honors programming in the college’s Undergraduate Programs Office.
Undergraduate Programs provides a comprehensive academic advising program for over 6500 students in the Haslam College of Business. The office is responsible for academic advising, enrollment management, orientation activities, scholarship distribution, compilation and analysis of longitudinal data for business students, special programing for students, and functional interaction with other campus and community entities.
In addition to supporting the overall mission of the Undergraduate Programs Office, this assistant director is responsible for management of the operational aspects Haslam's honors programing specifically, including the Smith Global Leadership Scholars and the Business Fellows Program. Duties include serving on the admissions committee, development of curricular policy, collecting and analyzing data, and planning and coordination of co-curricular activities for the honors programs. This role is very student focused and the successful candidate should be prepared to excel in student support and development. The assistant director teaches one or two program courses at one credit hour each, and supervises 2-4 academic advisors.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree.
- Five or more years of experience in academic advising, student mentoring, training or teaching.
- Project management skills, especially related to organization and events.
- Leaderships skills including communications and community engagement at all levels.
- Candidates must have the ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the diversity and intercultural goals of the University.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working in an environment similar to the Haslam College of Business's Undergraduate Programs Office or other college advising office. Knowledge of UTK systems and processes.
